Domestic workers of diplomats live in under very particular circumstances concerning their legal status in Germany. Their residence permit status is directly linked to the work they do in a specific diplomat's household. In addition, due to their diplomatic immunity status, the employers are not subject to the German judiciary system. Domestic workers of diplomats therefore live in extreme dependency in regard to their residence status and their rights as employees. They are therefore very vulnerable to trafficking. Eighty percent of all domestic workers of diplomats in Berlin are women from the Philippines. For them, the counselling is provided in English. If the counselling needs to be conducted in Tagalog or another language, please call beforehand. Counselling is free of charge. All information is dealt with confidentially. If requested, we also offer anonymous counselling. Download: Brochure for Domestic workers, 2009 (pdf) Text: Domestic Workers Working
