In the beginning, Ban-Ying was mainly a counselling center for women from Southeast Asia - mostly from Thailand. Ban Ying continues to be the only counselling center in Berlin for Thai women. The main areas of counselling are marital violence and legal status problems. But our open counselling service also offers trafficked women a chance to get in touch with us easily and without taking any risks.

Open counselling takes place on Wednesdays between 3 and 6 p.m. Interpreting in Thai and Chinese is provided. A lawyer is available for legal advice. Counselling services are also open to transgender people.

Counselling is free of charge. All information is dealt with confidentially. If requested, we also offer anonymous counselling.

We also offer low-threshold group sessions and regular information meetings in Thai and Tagalog where we provide information on legal and social issues with the assistance of external experts. We also offer classes for German as a foreign language specifically for Thai women in cooperation with the Adult Education Center of the Berlin Mitte District, Volkshochschule Mitte.
